Level Best Concrete Flooring, the cast insitu concrete flooring laser screed specialists, have completed one of their major contracts by installing 7,463m² of industrial warehousing concrete floor slab in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
The warehouse slab constituted a polythene membrane, concrete spacers, 1-layer of steel fabric reinforcing mesh and permanent armoured steel profile joint cast to a depth of 200mm with C40 ready-mixed concrete from Hanson’s local Burton-on-Trent batching plant.
The warehouse concrete floor slab was constructed utilising Level Best’s boom-operated laser screed, compacting and levelling concrete which was directly discharged from the back of the concrete wagons. The slab was powerfloat finished, incorporating a curing agent to allow Level Best’s two finishing teams to control the curing process and prevent cracking in the finished slab. Finally, sawcut induced contraction joints were installed into the finished slab to allow for concrete shrinkage.
The Site Manager overseeing the works commented on how Level Best “practically dealt with issues” that arose onsite and were very “user-friendly”.
