Level Best Concrete Flooring has completed the installation of a high tolerance concrete floor slab to five industrial units speculatively constructed by a local developer at Planetary Road Industrial Estate in Willenhall, Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. The floor was laid using one of the four laser screed concrete floor laying machines that Level Best operates throughout the country.
Developers are hoping the units will be taken extremely quickly as demand for industrial space in the West Midlands is high. The site on Planetary Road in Wolverhampton is superbly located as its two miles east of Wolverhampton and 15 miles north west of Birmingham.
The powerfloated concrete floors installed by Level Best were 175mm deep, reinforced with 1 layer of steel fabric mesh supported on chairs 50mm from the bottom of the floor. High strength concrete supplied by local batching plant operated by Aggregate Industries was supplied at the rate of 36m3 per hour and laid using the Somero SXP laser screeding machine. The total area of warehousing at 6,000m2 was constructed by Level Best over a 5 day period with powerfloating operations going long into the night to ensure the floor tolerances of FM2 as per TR34 4th edition were comfortably met. The floor flatness is of high importance when sheds are built speculatively without an understanding of what the future tenant might require, as having the luxury of a FM2 floor with eaves 8 metres in height means that clients can operate whatever they wish in terms of fork lifts and racking systems.
