Level Best Concrete Flooring, the industrial and commercial concrete floor design, build and renovation specialists from Yorkshire, has completed the first phase of works on another concrete floor contract for a repeat customer in Royston, Hertfordshire.
The first phase of works comprised the full supply and construction of almost 600m³ of ground and first floor office concrete slabs poured over three consecutive days. Level Best’s Slab Preparation Team set-up all the necessary perimeter shuttering, PFC channel insulation board, anti-crack column isolations, H12 loose rebar, polythene membranes and A252 steel fabric reinforcing mesh in advance of the slab construction.
Due to access restrictions, the ground and first floor slabs were pumped utilising a boom pump supplied from Camfaud Concrete Pump’s Epping base. C32/40 ready-mixed concrete was delivered from Cemex’s local Royston, Hertfordshire batching plant at a rate of 24m³ and was levelled and compacted by Level Best’s Specialist Slab Construction Team utilising traditional hand-laying techniques and lasers. The slabs were both given a powerfloat surface finish and sealed with a dust-proof curing agent.
Level Best Concrete Flooring will be returning to Royston, Hertfordshire in approximately 6-weeks time to carry out the full supply and construction of the 3,000m² warehouse floor slab. Level Best will be carrying out the laser-controlled final regulating trim of the subbase stone and constructing the warehouse floor slab with a laser-guided laser screed compacting and levelling machine to a TR34 4th Edition surface regularity floor classification of FM2.
