Jones of Nottingham, an expanding business which specialise in the manufacturing of curtain poles and fabric trimminings, required a high tolerance warehouse concrete floor slab for their new factory located at their existing premises on Malton Road, Nottingham.
Level Best Concrete Flooring was contracted by the main contractor to construct the high tolerance cast insitu concrete floor slab. The initial floor slab preparation works began with Level Best using their Bobcat T-650 laser controlled sub base levelling machine to lay and compact the sub base to the tolerance of +0/-10mm from overall datum. The perimeter steel columns were then isolated as per the structural engineer’s requirements and the existing doorways were saw cut and dowelled to create a new load transfer joint into the existing warehouse.
The Floor Installation Team carried out the laying of the concrete utilising the Ligchine Max Pro laser screed floor laying and levelling machine. Concrete delivery buggies were also utilised by the Level Best team to discharge concrete in the sections where access was restricted for concrete mixers and to ensure excellent level control was achieved.
The Level Best Concrete Finishing Teams worked throughout the day and night to leave another high quality polished and powerfloated surface finish to the floor. The acrylic floor sealer and dust inhibiting compound was sprayed on following the concrete polishing by the finishing team. Sawn induced contraction joints were then installed and subsequently sealed using Level Best’s saw cut seal joint sealant which immediately protects the arris edge of the new floor joint from dust, debris and trafficking.
