Concrete floor slab for new storage facility in Preston

Level Best Concrete Flooring Limited has recently completed the construction of 2 new cast insitu concrete floor slabs at a new warehousing facility in Preston Greater Manchester. A technical perimeter shuttering detail was required as the permanent cladding was to sit directly in to the floor itself and so Level Best had to take great care to ensure it was accurately installed.
The concrete floor slabs are going to particularly heavily loaded and so Level Best opted for a 200mm deep steel mesh reinforced solution and a C40 concrete mix. Concrete was supplied by the local Tarmac Readymix plant at a rate of 36m3 per hour in order to feed the Ligchine laser screed concrete flooring machine. The Ligchine in conjunction with the industrial concrete flooring contractors skilled labour achieves a flatness tolerance of FM2 to the latest TR34 2013 edition. Level Best finished the powerfloated concrete floor off with Sika Proseal 90, which is highly regarded as one of the best concrete floor dealers and dust inhibiting compounds available in today’s modern concrete flooring world. On completion of the floor sealing application the industrial concrete contractor installed sawn induced joints to cater for the stress relief and shrinkage of the concrete slab. These were then sealed with Level Best’s Sawcut Seal product which seals the sawn induced joints immediately without the need for any curing time. By installing the Sawcut Seal, Level Best negate the requirement for clients to employ another contractor and the product also limits the amount of debris ingress possible into the joint.
