Level Best Concrete Flooring the floor slab removal and replacement specialists has removed and replaced three sections of concrete yard at a busy freight terminal in Northamptonshire in just 8 days. The steel fibre reinforced concrete floor slabs were 400mm deep and required replacing to failure of the sub grade beneath the floors. Level Best utilising concrete floor saws and excavators with large hydraulic attachments removed the concrete extremely quickly and safely. Dowel bars 22mm in diameter were installed in two rows and at 450mm centres to ensure load transfer at joint interface locations. Heavy gauge steel reinforcement along with a high strength microsilica concrete Mix was installed, allowing access onto the new floor area 2 days after slab casting. A powerfloated surface finish was provided to the surface of the concrete slab to create traction for the 40 tonne front loading vehicles operated by the tenant.
