New warehouse concrete floor slab in Stamford, Lincolnshire

Level Best Concrete Flooring, the industrial concrete flooring contractors from Yorkshire has completed the construction of a warehouse concrete floor slab suspended on driven cast insitu concrete piles in Stamford, Lincolnshire. The warehouse concrete floor slab was traditionally reinforced using three layers of steel fabric mesh and additional loose bar reinforcement. The suspended floor slab was designed to span from piles at approximately 4 metre centres, incorporating a 600mm diameter flared head to the underside of the slab.

The Level Best site management team co ordinated the concrete floor slab project from start to finish, including the organising of access locations, pump locations and concrete quantities etc. The latest “state of the art” Somero laser screed concrete flooring machine was used to traffic the heavy duty reinforcement and provide a completed warehouse concrete floor slab to the flatness tolerance of FM2 as per TR34 2013 edition. The concrete was pumped into the building via a mobile pump supplied by Camfaud with the local Cemex readymix plant supplying concrete with additional concrete being supplied from the Peterborough plant.

The completed powerfloated warehouse concrete floor slab was sealed with Sika Proseal curing agent and dust inhibiting compound. The curing agent not only leaves a nice sheen to the polished concrete surface but also seeps deeply into the concrete pours to provide a long term dust free concrete surface for years to come. The floor sealing product can also be re applied if need be further down the line, when tenants have moved out and the floor requires a deep clean.
