Level Best Concrete Flooring, the industrial concrete flooring specialist, have carried out the sub base levelling for a new 46,000m² distribution centre in Castle Donington, East Midlands utilising the new Bobcat laser-controlled sub base leveller.
The newest addition to Level Best’s modern fleet of concreting equipment ensured that the sub base directly below the 800m² bays was within +/- 5mm of the overall datum, by utilising the very latest in laser-controlled technology. This ensured that the slabs were cast on a stable platform – enhancing the long-term performance of the slabs by allowing the concrete to shrink more evenly.
The Bobcat laser grader, operated by Level Best’s experienced, trained and qualified Sub Base Levelling Supervisor, comfortably achieved an output of 3 bays per day (2,400m²). Meaning that the entire sub base and stone for the 46,000m² area was trimmed and levelled in a month – ensuring that the flooring contractor met their deadlines and resulted in large cost savings, as the amount of concrete was significantly reduced.
