A new Travis Perkins warehouse in Loughborough required a high tolerance internal cast insitu concrete floor slab and Level best Concrete Flooring the industrial concrete flooring contractor from Yorkshire carried out the construction of the floor slab. Utilising the Ligchine laser screed concrete floor laying machine the 280m3 of Readymixed concrete supplied by the local Tarmac plant was laid in just one working day. The flatness tolerance of FM2 as per TR34 edition 4 was achieved in conjunction with the floor rectification and powerfloating teams.
The concrete floor slab was 185mm deep and reinforced with 1 single layer of bottom mesh, placed on a “just in time” basis and in advance of the laser screed. Sawn induced joints were installed at 5.4 metre centres and sealed with Sawcut Seal joint sealant, the only sealant which seals the joints instantaneously.
