Level Best Concrete Flooring has installed 2,600m2 of concrete floor slabs in just two days on the first speculative industrial park in Dewsbury near Wakefield, West Yorkshire since the recession. The industrial units have gained lots of interest from potential tenants and now have some high tolerance concrete floor slabs to add to their appeal.
Level Best was contracted directly by the developer to install the two layers of steel fabric mesh and 200mm deep cast insitu concrete floor slabs. Due to the complexity of the access, Level Best utilised the use of a mobile concrete pump and Somero S940 laser screed concrete floor laying machine. Ready mix concrete supply by Huddersfield Readymix was superb and daily outputs of 260m3 were easily achieved by the supplier.
The floor slab designed by Hill Cannon Associates in conjunction with detailing from Level Best called for sawn induced joints at 5 metre centres to help isolate steel columns. A steel profile joint acted as the main contraction joint to help maintain the aspect ratio of the bay sizes. All joints were sealed with Sawcut Seal, the only joint sealant that immediately seals the sawn induced joints after they have been installed.
The industrial flooring contractor from Goole, completed this project in precisely 5 working days from conception to completion and then moved onto another local concrete flooring project in Pollington, near Goole. The concrete flooring project in Pollington near Goole, consists of 5,000m2 of both internal and external concrete flooring. This concrete flooring scheme will keep Team 2 busy for the next 6 days.
