Level Best Concrete Flooring has recently completed the design and installation of a new cast insitu concrete floor slab for a warehouse extension at Stokes Tiles in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The are house was 5,500m2 in size and was cast using the concrete contractors Somero SXP laser screed concrete floor laying machine.
The concrete flooring contractors scope of works entailed the laser levelling of the compacted hard core layer, instalation of steel permananet construction joints, column isolation and manhole isolation details and laying of polythene membrane. Following this the ready-mixed concrete supplied by the local batching plant of Tarmac was laid with the laser screed and mesh installed on a “just in time” basis. Six concrete finishers worked throughout the day and night to leave a beautifully polished concrete floor laid to the tolerance of FM2 as per TR34 4th edition. Sawn induced joints were then cut and sealed the next day to leave an excellent and high quality concrete floor slab.
