Level Best Concrete Flooring has carried out the installation of this high tolerance FM1 concrete floor slab for a warehouse extension on behalf of Ejot Limited, a worldwide supplier of fixings and fasteners, based in Sherburn In Elmet, Leeds, Yorkshire. The warehouse extension was 2,500m2 in size and was installed by Level Best over a three day slab casting period. The warehouse floor extension in Sherburn was to be extremely heavily loaded and hence the engineer designed a heavy gauge steel reinforcement for the 200mm deep floor slab. The client required a hard wearing and abrasive surface finish and so Level Best incorporated a dry shake surface hardener into the concrete floor. This added further complications for the industrial flooring contractors as due to the height of the high bay racking, the floor flatness requirement was FM1 as per the Concrete Societies TR34. The flatness criteria FM1 allows only millimetres of tolerance at the concrete surface and when laying such a wet product and maintaining flatness tolerances so tight, it requires a high level pf skill and attention to detail. With Level Best Concrete Flooring having an excellent track record in installing high tolerance warehouse concrete floor slabs, they were the automatic choice of the main contractor to carry out the floor installation.
