Goole-based industrial concrete flooring specialists, Level Best Concrete Flooring, has recently carried out the construction of an internal industrial concrete floor slabs on behalf of an expanding UK based specialist manufacturing company. The contract was carried out on behalf of a repeat Yorkshire-based contractor, who Level Best has recently carried out a successful project in Bradford, involving the construction of a “jointless” steel fibre reinforced industrial concrete floor slab.
This contract in Sheffield, South Yorkshire provided Level Best with an opportunity to provide another repeat Client with an all-encompassing scope of industrial concrete flooring works. Commencing with the levelling and compacting of the final layer of subbase stone and pre-setting all re-entrant column isolation details and steel armoured construction day joints.
One all slab preparation works were completed and signed off, the Level Best Team moved into the slab construction phase of works. This involved the full supply and placement of a 175mm thick concrete floor slab. The concrete was levelled and compacted utilising modern laser screed technology to a flatness tolerance of FM1 as per TR34 4th Edition. The slab was then given a full powerfloat surface finish incorporating a dust-proofing curing and sealing agent. The following days, Level Best’s experienced saw cutting operatives installed sawn induced joints as per the Engineer’s requirements and filled subsequent joints with Level Best’s instant sawn induced joint sealant product.
Level Best’s all-encompassing service also includes the procurement of independent 3rd party testing requirements. On this particular scheme in Sheffield, South Yorkshire Level Best organised; an independent TR34 compliant flatness survey to be carried out confirming compliance with FM1 floor class, independent abrasion tests confirming compliance with AR1 abrasion resistance, and independent cube testing confirming compliance with 40N/mm² concrete compressive strength requirements.
