Level Best Concrete Flooring have been involved in a complex project in Long Eaton near Nottingham in Derbyshire involving the construction of 5,500 square metres of industrial concrete flooring as part of a major dilapidation project.
Works commenced with the sub grade and sub base build up of around 300mm of Type 1 quarried stone. The stone was required to be brought up this level due to the difference between the extension slab and the existing FFL in Long Eaton, Near Nottingham. Works were carried out utilising laser guided sub base machinery.
Level Best then progressed onto the steel armoured joint erection and load transfer drill and dowelling operations. The purpose of the dowelling was to tie the new slab into the existing slab at FFL, allowing maximum flexibility when speculatively letting the building to potential future tenants.
On completion of all the preparation works in Derbyshire, Level Best commenced the installation of 5,500 square metres of industrial concrete flooring. The slab was cast utilising innovative laser screed machinery and a quality powerfloat finish was provided utilising ride on and walk behind powerfloat machinery. The slab was sealed and saw cuts induced with instant joint sealant applied. All installation works carried out in house by Level Best.
