Multi-Unit Mixed-Use Concrete Flooring in Alnwick, Northumberland

Another project has been completed by Level Best Concrete Flooring in the North-East of England, increasing the Yorkshire-based specialist contractor’s presence in the fast-growing Northumberland region.

This project in Alnwick, Northumberland involved the full design and installation of concrete floors for five mixed-use multi-unit industrial buildings. The buildings will be let to a variety of light industrial and retail tenants. The floor area across the five units totalled 50,000 square feet and the high-tolerance concrete floors were installed across two separate visits to site, to suit the main contractors sequencing.

Level Best’s scope of works in Alnwick started with the final subbase regulating of the subgrade platform utilising laser-guided machinery capable of achieving +0/-5mm tolerances. Works then progressed onto the laser screed concrete floor installation with the contractor aiming to achieve a FM3 tolerance suitable for buildings of this specification.

Works in Northumberland completed with a full powerfloat surface finish and the application of a spray-applied curing and sealing solution. Sawn joints were induced into the slabs and instantly sealed with Level Best’s saw cut sealant system – a innovative sealant system designed and developed to instantly protect joint arises for the remainder of the construction phase and the first 12 months.
