Concrete floors designed and installed in conjunction with TR34 in Manchester

All design and construct works completed by Level Best Concrete Flooring are completed in conjunction with The Concrete Society’s Technical Report 34 4th Edition guidance document.

This document gives guidance and ensures compliance on all new design and build industrial concrete floor slabs in the UK and worldwide. This project completed recently in Cheetham Hill, Manchester for a repeat Yorkshire-based contractor was no different with all works completed in conjunction with TR34 guidance document.

The document gives guidance on the design process, instructing flooring contractors and design engineers on the technical design elements of ground-supported and suspended industrial floor slabs. The document details the requirements for a well-engineered uniformed subgrade and subbase through to the optimum steel armoured and sawn induced joint layouts, balancing the control of shrinkage with letting flexibility whilst reducing potential future maintenance.

TR34 then goes on the to provide guidance on the best practice concrete installation methods. This project, due to the access restrictions and building layouts, Level Best opted to use the large area construction methods. This modern concrete installation method requires the correct implementation of the laser screed technology into the slab placement, levelling and compacting works.

Whether you have a project in Manchester, wider Lancashire or elsewhere in the UK requiring TR34 compliant, please contact one of our experienced team members who will be able to give accurate industrial concrete flooring guidance, all in conjunction with the recommendations of TR34.
