Level Best Concrete Flooring the innovative concrete flooring contractors based near Goole in East Yorkshire will shortly be installing a cast in situ concrete floor slab to their warehouse using a floor design which is completely new to the UK and is the first to be installed in this country. The floor is designed to be completely joint free and will benefit the warehouse staff at Level Best when trafficking with forklifts and delivery lorries and pallet trucks etc. The new building is 18 metres wide and 42 metres long and will be cast in one day with one of the contractors laser screed concrete flooring machines. Using both steel wires and steel fibres as the primary reinforcement within the concrete floor slab, the steel strands will be post tensioned once the concrete hits the strength of 10n/mm2 and then further tensioning at 25n/mm2. The floor will then be not only cracks free, but not require any shrinkage control joints whatsoever, despite being long and thin, also described as beyond aspect ratio.
The whole installation process of this joint free concrete floor slab is to be filmed and Level Best are looking to present to prospective interested parties in the future.
