A bespoke concrete floor removal and replacement project is underway in Leeds, West Yorkshire with Level Best providing a fully integral contracting service to the West Yorkshire based owner-operator.
The client’s existing warehouse floor was beyond surface remediation and had become both an operating issue slowing down production and a health and safety concern when operating MHE forklifts. This project was made more difficult to deliver as the client wanted to remain operational whilst the concrete warehouse floor removal and replacement works were carried out in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Level Best’s pre-construction team visited site in Leeds to advise the client of an alternative solution to remove the existing slabs without the noise, dust and overall disruption of mechanically breaking out the slab with heavy-duty construction plant. This alternative “clean” solution involves full depth saw cutting the slab into smaller squares utilising dust-suppression equipment and neatly lifting out with a telehandler to a designated laydown area externally, out of the way of the client’s HGV operations.
Approximately 400 square and 150 tonne of concrete and waste will be removed over two visits to further limit operational disruption.
Level Best are also offering clients the opportunity to crush, recycle and reuse the existing concrete waste arisings. This is made possible by Level Best’s mobile crushing machine turning existing concrete floor waste arisings into new subgrade/subbase stone able to be used onsite. This enables Level Best to offer a sustainable, economical and commercial bolt-on service to clients.
