Level Best was contracted to design and install a high-tolerance concrete floor in Merseyside, built to defined-movement floor class 1. The floor was specifically engineered to support the end user’s high-bay racking system and very narrow aisle (VNA) trucks operating in a defined-movement manner. Such facilities require extreme accuracy in floor flatness and levelness to ensure safe, efficient operation of automated and man-up materials handling equipment.
To meet the required tolerances, the concrete floor slab was meticulously placed, levelled and power-floated. High-tolerance long-strip construction techniques were adopted to achieve consistent compliance across the slab, ensuring suitability for VNA truck operations.
Level Best completed all stages of the works in-house, including final subbase stone regulation, daywork joint and rail installation, slab placement and a high-quality power-float finish. This controlled approach ensured accuracy, durability and long-term performance.
A fully integrated design, supply, installation and compliance survey package was provided by Level Best, giving the client confidence that the finished floor met the required defined-movement specifications.
