Waste Transfer Station Throwback Thursday

This Throwback Thursday, Level Best Concrete Flooring is reflecting on a major waste transfer station project successfully completed in April 2022, showcasing our long-standing expertise in specialist industrial flooring solutions.

The project involved the full design, supply and installation of a jointless steel fibre reinforced concrete floor slab at a waste transfer facility in Coventry, West Midlands. Designed specifically for demanding waste and recycling environments, the flooring solution was engineered to deliver exceptional durability, safety and long-term performance.

Jointless steel fibre reinforced concrete flooring is ideal for waste transfer stations, recycling centres and waste depots where heavy vehicle movements, impact loading and aggressive operational conditions are common. By minimising traditional joints, the system significantly reduces the risk of joint breakdown, one of the leading causes of safety hazards, maintenance costs and operational downtime in industrial facilities.

At the Coventry site, Level Best incorporated dry shake floor toppings to suppress exposed fibres and enhance abrasion resistance. This ensured a hard-wearing, safe and easy-to-maintain surface capable of withstanding continuous heavy-duty use.

Building on the success of projects like this, Level Best is now offering an advanced Joint-Free Flooring system. This innovative solution omits both problematic sawn-induced and formed contraction joints, delivering a truly joint-free concrete floor. The result is a seamless surface that improves safety, reduces maintenance requirements and maximises uptime for waste operations.

Our joint-free and jointless concrete flooring systems are specifically designed for waste transfer stations, recycling facilities and waste depots where performance, longevity and safety are critical.

This project highlights Level Best’s proven track record in delivering specialist concrete flooring solutions across the UK. From design through to installation, we continue to support waste and recycling operators with flooring systems built for the toughest industrial environments.
