The 3,750m2 of warehouse concrete floor slab was cast utilising the Ligchine laser screed concrete levelling and compacting machine over a 2 day period. The firsts days concrete pour saw 430m3 of ready mixed concrete supplied by a local independent poured into the slab with the laser screed. The construction day joint within the concrete slab was a Permaban Alpha joint which the experienced concrete flooring contractors like to use, especially in cold weather as the edge fo the slab is protected by the armoured joint and so minimises the chance of damage, especially when pouring vast amounts of concrete each day. The Level Best finishing team carried out a beautifully polished and power floated concrete finish, which was spray cured using Sika Proseal, one of the best curing agents and floor sealers in today’s modern concrete flooring world. Sawn induced joints were cut the next day and immediately sealed using Sawcut Seal the innovative joint sealant for saw cuts which requires no curing time and can be instantaneously trafficked once installed.
The client was incredibly impressed with the whole concrete flooring operation by Level Best and the concrete flooring contractors look forward to returning up North in March to carry out another large warehouse floor slab for the customer.
