Concrete Floor slab for new waste recycling facility, Market Weighton, East Yorkshire

Level Best Concrete Flooring the industrial concrete flooring contractors based in Yorkshire have carried out the supply and installation of this new cast insitu concrete floor slab for a new waste recycling facility in Market Weighton. The warehouse was just over 3,000m2 in size and concrete slabs were cast over a 3 day period utilising the Ligchine laser screed concrete flooring machine. The cast insitu concrete floor was laid 200mm thick and reinforced with 1 layer of steel fabric mesh. The client wanted the toughest and most costs effective surface finish and so Level Best fully polished and powerfloated the concrete and subsequently sprayed a high quality curing membrane to increase the lifespan of the concrete floor and keeping costs to a minimum. Sawn induced contraction joints were induced at 6 metre centres and construction joints were steel armoured to protect the arris edges during heavy trafficking from mechanical handling equipment.
