Level Best Concrete Flooring, the East-Yorkshire based industrial concrete flooring contractor, have completed the supply and installation of this new concrete floor slab in Shrewsbury, Shropshire on behalf on an existing customer, who have recently contracted Level Best to carry out another floor refurbishment project in Minworth, Birmingham.
Prior to concreting, the subbase was trimmed by Level Best’s experienced industrial floor slab preparation team to within +/- 5mm of datum. This new industrial warehouse floor slab was then cast on a progressive basis, with 1200 gauge polythene, concrete spacers and A193 reinforcing mesh been laid “just in front” of the C35 ready-mixed concrete arriving from Breedon’s local Leaton plant.
The slab was cast with Level Best’s Ligchine laser screed to an TR34 4thEdition FM3 compliant flatness and powerfloated and polished with ride-on powerfloats, incorporating a surface hardening curing agent. Saw cut joints were induced into the floor slab the following day to control shrinkage and cracking.
