Level Best Concrete Flooring has recently completed the full design and construction of industrial concrete floor slabs for six light industrial units in Telford, Shropshire. The multi-unit industrial development, to be known as Newport Innovation Park, is part of a wider Telford and Shropshire council drive to provide more high-quality business space for the fast-growing agri-tech sector. Level Best carried out the works on behalf of a new Client.
The works consisted of pre-setting of all insulation board, polythene slip membrane and steel fabric reinforcing mesh. Level Best also selected and pre-set standard steel armoured day joints where necessary along with new to the market innovative dowel cradles for this Telford, Shropshire development. Galvanised angles were installed at access doorways to provide edge arris protection.
The 150mm slab was cast utilising laser screed technology, traditional hand lay techniques and mobile concrete pumps depending on insulation specification. The slab was given a full powerfloat surface finish and spray-cured with a curing and sealing agent. Sawn induced contraction joints were installed on a regular grid to accommodate stud walls which will be built off the slab to divide the larger buildings into 24 no. smaller units for immediate letting to local Shropshire businesses.
