Industrial concrete flooring specialists Level Best Concrete Flooring has recently been contracted by a new London-based Client to carry out the full design, supply and installation of the concrete floor slabs for this speculative development in Gravesend, Kent.
Due to the complexity of the ground preparation and engineering works, Level Best’s specialist design team were contracted early in the scheme to review the ground-improvement techniques in conjunction with the slab design and installation. The slab was eventually designed to be a ground-bearing C28/35 160mm deep mesh reinforced slab with sawn induced joints at regular intervals.
This contract in Gravesend, Kent was an opportunity for Level Best Concrete Flooring to showcase their all-encompassing design and build services to another new Client. With the slab preparation works being carried out in-house including final regulating subbase compacting and levelling, column isolations details and galvanised doorway angles. The slabs were installed over three consecutive days utilising modern laser screed technology to a flatness tolerance of FM2. The slabs were given a full powerfloat finish and sealed with a curing and sealing agent. Sawn induced joints were installed and subsequently sealed with Level Best’s instant saw cut sealant.
This successful project is the first of two speculative developments Level Best Concrete Flooring will be carrying out with this new London-based Client, with the team mobilising from Gravesend, Kent to Maidenhead, Berkshire to install more industrial concrete flooring. Level Best’s numerous teams will also be mobilising to other new sites throughout the country, including but not limited to Exeter and Paignton in the South-West and Doncaster, Bradford and Wakefield in Yorkshire.
