Laser screed external concrete flooring on the outskirts of Selby, North Yorkshire

Level Best Concrete Flooring the laser screed concrete flooring contractors who work throughout the country has recently been installing a new external concrete hardstanding on the outskirts of Selby in North Yorkshire with their Somero laser screed concrete flooring machine. The area of approximately 2,000m2 was cast in large bays with the laser screed and mobile pump  in between channels set in place by the client to create an automatic wash bay system. The Level Best Concrete Flooring site team, devised a method of flood pouring the external concrete floor slabs, allowing the Readymixed concrete supplied by Watts Mix to be poured over two consecutive days and provide the client with a floor slab of the highest quality in a very short space of time.

Once the laser screed concrete flooring machine had laid the external concrete, the concrete finishing team had to almost immediately commence powerfloating as the external temperatures hovered around 28 degrees and hence both the timing and sequencing had to work to perfection, in such hot weather conditions.

The powerfloated concrete was sealed with a high quality curing agent, as the powerfloating worked progressively along the concrete bays. Sawn induced joints were cut and subsequently sealed in the early hours of the morning to minimise the risk of an early age shrinkage cracking.

From initial setting up of timber shuttering and steel fabric mesh to the installation of the concrete and demobilisation from the site, the entire concrete flooring project took only 5 consecutive working days to install.
