This new Lidl store in Barton Upon Humber required a new heavy duty concrete floor slab to be cast over a two day period. Level Best Concrete Flooring the concrete flooring contractors based in Goole, Yorkshire was contracted to carry out the the cast insitu concrete floor slab package.
Steel fabric mesh was pre set in advance of the concrete floor pour, with bars attached to mesh in order to form the reinforcement for the concrete walls. Level Best Concrete Flooring utilised one of their laser screeds to cast the concrete slab, along with a Mobile pump and the use of direct discharge from the truck mixer. Concrete was supplied from Ashcourt at the rate of 36m3 per hour to allow the pour to be cast without any cold joints in the concrete slab.
Sawn induced contraction joints were installed early the following morning to minimise risk of shrinkage cracks in the floor slab and control the movement as per the design.
The customer was happy with the finished concrete floor slab and has placed another concrete flooring contract with Level Best Concrete Flooring to be carried out
