Removal of existing concrete floor to create a new cold store in Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Level Best Concrete Flooring has recently completed the removal and replacement of a concrete slab in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The existing warehouse concrete was not suitable for the new tenants requirements and hence required removing. The re modelling of the concrete floor was an extremely time critical element of the works programme due to the demand for the clients produce from major supermarkets. Level Best had to carry out the concrete flooring works around the clock to ensure deadlines were met to allow contract handover to take place on time. Once the concrete slab had been removed the entire concrete floor area of 1,200m2 was laid in just one long day, utilising a mobile concrete pump and the Somero laser screed. The slab was constructed to the flatness tolerance of FM3 2013 edition of TR34 with the Somero laser screed and the experienced concrete flooring team. Three sets of finishing teams worked around the clock to keep up with the rapid setting of the concrete, which was caused due to the high temperatures and insulated panels within the warehouse building.
On completion of the concrete floor powerfloating and floor sealing the sawn induced joints were installed and subsequently sealed with Sawcut Seal joint sealant. Level Best Concrete Flooring will return to site again in February 2019 to carry out the next phase of concrete floor removal and replacement programme.
