Level Best Concrete Flooring Limited, the industrial concrete flooring specialist, have recently completed the construction of a cast in situ concrete flooring package for an office block and 3 new speculative industrial warehouse units at Skylon Park in Hereford.
The industrial concrete floor slab package included the installation of almost 4,000m² of reinforced concrete floor slabs. Each slab had 1-layer of polythene, heavy duty concrete spacers and 1-layer of A142 pre-set prior to concrete pumping. The concrete was then pumped into each unit via a mobile concrete pump and cast utilising Level Best’s laser-guided Somero Laser Screed – an extremely lightweight ride-on laser screed which can operate over reinforcing steel mesh without causing any damage and still achieve the desired flatness tolerance require, as per TR34 4th Edition.
Once the concrete had partially cured, Level Best’s experienced saw cutting operatives installed and sealed sawn cut induced contraction joints into the finished concrete slab to control the natural shrinkage of concrete and prevent cracking.
