Due to rapid expansion, Siemens required a new high tolerance concrete floor slab to be laid extremely quickly in order to provide a base for their new temporary building in Newcastle.
Level Best Concrete Flooring the industrial concrete flooring contractors from Yorkshire was contracted to install the warehouse concrete floor slab on behalf of the main contractor. To cater for the load of the temporary warehouse the slab was designed with a perimeter thickening and intricate re bar detail. Level Best’s concrete floor preparation team comfortably installed the steel reinforcement, steel construction joint and perimeter shuttering in advance of the concrete contractors floor installation team. The programme took precisely one week from start to finish, including the installation of the sawn induced contraction joints. Despite the inclement weather conditions the Level Best concrete finishing team, consisting of 6 operatives managed to provide a beautifully polished concrete surface finish to the floor slab.
Level Best are now on site installing new concrete floor slabs at the speculative business park in Brough on the outskirts of Hull in East Yorkshire.
