Major Warehouse refurbishment complete in Rugby, Warwickshire

Level Best Concrete Flooring, the floor renovation specialists based in Yorkshire, were contracted by a new client to revitalise 32,000m² of industrial concrete floor slab in Rugby, Warwickshire for a major speculative dilapidation project.

Level Best’s Floor Renovation System team mobilised to site in November 2018 to make a start on core drill removing approximately 60,000 racking bolts which were left insitu in the slab by the racking removal contractor – core drill removing the racking bolts was proposed by Level Best to the client as it would give the warehouse greater future flexibility.

A variety of other remedial floor slab repairs such as crack repairs, arris repairs and joint resealing were carried out by Level Best to bring the slab up to a standard ready for polishing and to also enhance future serviceability of the slab.

The six stage polishing process was then carried out. The process involves the cleaning, microscopic grinding and final buffing of the slab. The polishing system also integrates the application of a densifier and sealer which increase the structural integrity, aesthetics and prevents dust build-up on the surface of the slab.
