High-tolerance industrial concrete flooring in Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Following a spate of successful design and build industrial concrete flooring projects in Sheffield, South Yorkshire completed by Level Best Concrete Flooring in 2021, the industrial flooring specialists were selected to carry out the high-tolerance concrete flooring on behalf of a new client, working with the project team on this purpose-built facility, increasing the size and output of a fast growing Sheffield-based wholesaler’s warehousing and distribution capacity.

Due to the slab design and overall building use, insulation was required throughout the full building, located in section at underside of slab. This architectural driven design element meant that Level Best would not be able to operate laser screed machinery at all on the project. The Yorkshire-based flooring specialists had to revert to traditional pre-set, pump and hand lay techniques whilst still achieving a FM” surface tolerance for future tenant racking requirements.

The slab in Sheffield, South Yorkshire was given a full powerfloat surface finish incorporating a curing and sealing solution giving the slab the quality surface finish shown below. Sawn induced contraction joints were installed as per the design and subsequently instantly sealed using Level Best’s instant sealant system.

On completion of this local project in Sheffield, South Yorkshire on behalf of a new client, Level Best’s multiple delivery teams will be travelling south to carry out design and build industrial concrete flooring contracts in Bicester, Oxfordshire and Fleet, Hampshire on behalf of two repeat clients.
