This new speculative warehouse development located in Oldham, Lancashire on the outskirts of Manchester has newly designed and installed cast insitu concrete floor slabs by Level Best Concrete Flooring Limited. The total size of the development was 7,000m2 and the floors were constructed using one of the concrete flooring contractors Somero laser screed concrete flooring machines. With concrete supplier Breedon Group maintain an average supply rate of 36m3 of concrete per hour, the floors were cast over a 6 day consecutive period.
The main contractor Triton did an excellent job on ensuring weather protection and cladding was completed prior to the concrete pours to ensure a controlled slab casting environment was available to Level Best. This also enable the concrete floor finishing teams to work uninterrupted throughout the night to leave a beautifully powerfloated and polished concrete floor slab. On completion of the powerfloating process the slabs were spray cured to seal the concrete surface and subsequent shrinkage control joints were installed into the slab and sealed with the joint sealant Instant Seal.
