Level Best Concrete Flooring successfully delivered a high-performance steel fibre reinforced flooring solution for a speculative industrial development in Stallingborough, Lincolnshire, as part of the Humber Freeport initiative.
Due to poor ground conditions across the site, the slab required support from traditional driven piles. Working closely with the project team, Level Best designed and installed a steel fibre reinforced pile-supported suspended slab, providing a durable and efficient flooring solution tailored to the project’s structural requirements.
The innovative slab design enabled the use of laser screed installation techniques, helping achieve high flatness tolerances while maintaining economical installation outputs. By opting for a steel fibre reinforced slab, both the client and contractor benefited from a shorter construction programme and improved project efficiency.
To further enhance the floor finish, the steel fibres were successfully suppressed using a dry-shake topping applied by Level Best across the North Lincolnshire project. This process ensured a high-quality, hard-wearing concrete floor suitable for industrial and commercial use.
The success of the initial phase has resulted in Level Best returning to Stallingborough to complete the remaining two units within the development, reinforcing the company’s reputation for delivering specialist concrete flooring solutions across Lincolnshire and the Humber region.
For expert steel fibre flooring, suspended concrete slabs, and laser screed flooring solutions, Level Best continues to support major industrial developments throughout the UK.
