Yorkshire-based industrial concrete flooring contractor Level Best Concrete Flooring Limited were selected to carry out the construction of this internal industrial powerfloated warehouse concrete floor in Rowley Regis, Birmingham, West Midlands on behalf of a Birmingham-based contractor. Level Best secured these works on the back of successful contractors in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire and Hilton, Derbyshire back in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Level Best’s Subbase Levelling Team operate in advance of the industrial slab installation works carrying out the final regulating subbase blinding and surface closing to an highly-accurate +/- 5mm tolerance. The subbase provides Level Best with a stable working platform to construct the concrete slab on, ensuring the slab shrinks evenly with restraint reducing the chance of shrinkage cracking, and enhancing the overall long-term performance of the slab.
Level Best Concrete Flooring’s Slab Preparation Team worked in conjunction with a gas membrane installation specialist from Luton, Bedfordshire carrying out CS2 gas membrane installation along with A252 mesh pre-setting, anti-crack column isolation details, slab isolation details and standard and galvanised construction joint installation to ensure optimal slab performance and specification. The gas membrane is independently validated prior to slab construction.
This industrial warehouse concrete floor slab in Rowley Regis, Birmingham, West Midlands was constructed utilising the latest laser screed concrete flooring technology. The slab was given a powerfloat surface finish incorporating a solvent-based curing and sealing solution. Sawn induced contraction joints were installed by Level Best’s experienced saw-cutting operatives and subsequently sealed utilising Level Best’s instant seal product.
